The feud between Edge and Seth Rollins, got even more alive, with the WWE Messiah who literally showed up at the WWE Hall of Famer in the last episode of Friday Night Smackdown, with a mind game worthy of the best Undertaker or Triple H, with the former Universal Champion terrorizing his opponent by wandering around the giant mansion where Edge lives with his wife Beth Phoenix and their young children.
During the Seth Rollins promo, Edge also faked a phone call to his wife, telling her to stay as far away from home as possible, in a safe place, until two characters who no one initially understood who they were, would arrive at their home.
In the end, we discovered how David and Daniel were the FTRs of All Elite Wrestling, or the former WWE Revival, with the two athletes who are great friends of Edge and also live very close to Villa Copeland, with the reference being clear to WWE internet-savvy fans.
What’s next for Edge?
According to what was reported by the well-known site Ringside News, the management of the WWE would not have calculated at all the mention of its two former athletes in the promo of Edge. The fact of not having mentioned the famous names of the two athletes, that is those with whom they fight or fought in the rings of the Stamford-based company, but that of having made the real names has meant that many did not even understand the reference.
According to the journalists of the site, in fact, neither Vince McMahon, nor Kevin Dunn, nor Bruce Prichard and nor John Laurinaitis, would have said anything to Edge about his promo. The fact of having called them David and Daniel, in fact, would have meant that in Edge’s house there could have been anyone to save his family, with two friends, two relatives or who knows who else, who would have in any case brought the promo to be credible.
Edge apparently wanted to play with the internet and with all the various rumors that come out every day and the management let him do it, without creating problems and without scolding him for nothing, even if he actually appointed two former employees of the company, currently serving a rival company.
The WWE Hall of Famer later revealed that he trained with Dax Harwood and Cash Wheeler, as they’re now known, prior to his in-ring return. “The Revival, they both live in Asheville, so they’d come and they’d get in there with me, and they’d put me through my paces,” said Edge.
“I didn’t want to come back and be anything less than what I was. I’m going to have to work differently. I’m going to have different limitations… I still want to be able to go in there and be able to go half an hour,” said Edge.
